Previewing "Casablanca": Movies in the Park June 26

Only one answer can take care of all our questions: Movies in the Park presented by the Rochester Downtown Alliance and Altra Federal Credit Union! Join us June 26 when we present "Casablanca" at Central Park in downtown Rochester. Here's lookin' at you, kid, to attend after learning what fun is in store in this movie preview guide.

"Casablanca" synopsis and rating

The year is 1941. The place is Casablanca, French Morocco. Here is where we find Rick Blaine, an American expatriate who now owns a nightclub known as a haven for World War II refugees searching for exit visas. By happenstance, he obtains two verified letters of transit. Enter Rick's former lover, Isla, and her refuge leader husband who are seeking asylum. Follow Rick's complicated journey whether to rekindle a romance with his old flame or let her go. "Casablanca" is rated PG.

Pre-movie activities

Make it a date night with your significant other or a friends' evening out starting at 7:30 p.m.! (Who knows: you may even meet new people as the beginning of a beautiful friendship with fellow "Casablanca" enthusiasts.) There will be a photo booth onsite that will make you feel like you're at Rick's Café Americain. A small jazz ensemble will be providing ambient sounds for your listening pleasure.

Available food and beverage

It might not be champagne and a tin of caviar, but Café Steam and Carroll's Corn have high-class beverages and snacks made for Movies in the Park! Carroll's Corn will have movie candy and its signature cheddar, caramel, or triple mix popcorn to munch on. If regular movie theater freshly popped popcorn will do, get your Movies in the Park bucket refilled for just $5 ($8 to start).

Reserve your space

"I never make plans that far ahead" is a quote from Rick himself. But you to attend Movies in the Park, reserving a space is required for the movie date. And this event is popular, so sign up now!
