Movies in the Park August Preview: Ferris Bueller

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." We couldn't agree more, which is why we encourage you to attend this month's Movies in the Park presented by Premier Banks! On Saturday, August 17, it's the showing of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, plus a variety of themed activities and food, in downtown Rochester! Here's a preview of the shenanigans in store for this live-life-like-there's-no-tomorrow movie night!

About the Movie

"Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?" High school senior Ferris Bueller decides it's too nice to spend the day in school, so he concocts a plan to fake being sick and spends the day gallivanting around Chicago. His parents are unbelieving their sweet boy would deceive them, but his sister and the school principal are out to prove them wrong. Find out if Ferris Bueller gets caught by attending Movies in the Park August 17. This film is rated PG-13.

About the Food & Drink

Just like Ferris Bueller and his friends, you can enjoy a day at the ballpark with the typical game fare! Grand Rounds Brewing Company will be hitting it out of the park with sausage "brats," hot dogs, hamburgers, and chips. Fix your dog or burger the way you want with atypical toppings Grand Rounds has at its restaurant or go for classic with Chicago-style toppings. Wash it down with a soda (Coke, Diet Coke, or Sprite) or water. For the adult crowd, there will be sangria and two different types of beer. To finish off the meal, Coldstone Creamery will provide the perfect summertime treat: smooth ice cream!

About the Activities

Ferris Bueller isn't the only one allowed to have fun! Thanks to our partner Charter House, Movies in the Park attendees can get in on activities worthy of a day off! Just as Ferris rushes home through a variety of barriers, try your best to race through the inflatable obstacle course! Central Park will be the site of friendly competition with bean bags, Connect 4, Jenga, and a variety of other lawn games.

About the Popcorn

Before you settle in for the 9 p.m. movie, grab a snack of Carroll’s Corn popcorn (while supplies last).
