A Kind "Here Comes Santa Claus" Partner: Altra Federal Credit Union
Oh, what fun it is to have Altra Federal Credit Union as the Here Comes Santa Claus presenting partner this year. Altra embodies the spirit of the season by their passion for giving back. Let's find out why Altra shows love to the Rochester community and what holiday tradition is a favorite of Danielle Anderson, Altra's youth program supervisor.
Katie (RDA director of content/communications): How does Altra Federal Credit Union give back to the Rochester community during the holidays?
Danielle: Altra Federal Credit Union partners with Toys for Tots to collect toys for children in the community and will be a toy drop site this year. We will also host a free Santa visit, which is open to the public, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. December 3 at our Cascade Creek Road location. We encourage parents to take photos of their kids and bring a non-perishable food item to be donated. When they stop in to see Santa, each family will be given a book (while supplies last), as well.
Katie: Why does Altra partner with the RDA for Here Comes Santa Claus?
Danielle: We partner with RDA for Here Comes Santa Claus because the holidays are important for families and we want to help provide great experiences. One way we saw to offer a feel-good experience for everyone was partnering on the Kindness Tree (learn more here). For others to help spread kindness in the form of hats, gloves, and scarves is a great way for Altra to help give back to the Rochester community.
Katie: Here Comes Santa Claus has been a Rochester tradition for 45 years. Tell us about your personal favorite holiday tradition.
Danielle: My favorite holiday tradition is simply spending time with family, watching holiday movies, and snuggling up on the couch!
Katie: What is your favorite holiday tune and why?
Danielle: I like all holiday music, especially music from Trans-Siberian Orchestra!
Katie: What is one thing you are most looking forward to this holiday season?
Danielle: I am most looking forward to spending time with my family. This is one of the few times a year we get to have everyone together in one place!
