Traditional Here Comes Santa Claus Returns in 2021
Merriment abounds when Santa comes to town for a beloved Rochester tradition! Here Comes Santa Claus presented by Altra Federal Credit Union is being planned as an in-person event November 26 with many of the usual elements included. So save the date (and check it twice): Here's a glimpse of the experiences to make this holiday season brighter.
Yuletide fun
Experience the magic of the holidays in Santa's Magical Workshop at Historic Chateau Theatre, complete with a Neon Green Studio Art Cart craft, warm treats to keep you toasty, a live story time with Mrs. Claus, and Rochester Trolley tours around the Hiawatha Homes' Festival of Trees locations and other stops downtown.
One of the time-honored traditions of rescuing Santa from the Residences of Old City Hall's rooftop is back in 2021! It seems every year Santa has difficulty navigating Rochester's airspace and needs the Rochester Fire Department's help in getting to the ground.
Make the magical journey behind the fire truck carrying Santa and Mrs. Claus to Peace Plaza for the annual tree lighting ceremony to help count down the holidays. Afterward, have your family's photo taken with Santa in an all-new designed way (physically distanced and outdoors) and listen or join in the caroling around the tree for some days-gone-by memories! Or duck inside Chateau Theatre for some treats.
A fun yet safe holiday event
The Rochester Downtown Alliance is taking COVID-19 precautions to keep people, especially children, safe. Masks are encouraged in indoors venues and crowded outdoor settings. There will be hand sanitizing stations at each indoor location of the event. Physical distancing is highly recommended when possible.
