What does "ARPA" stand for? We will tell you: in downtown Rochester, it means "A Resplendent Programming of Art"! With American Rescue Plan Act funds thanks to the City of Rochester, you can experience art in a variety of ways throughout downtown Rochester. Join an artist-led tour or take a self-guided tour to view downtown’s new murals and artwork on businesses’ exterior doors. The possibilities are endless when you seek out the beauty of the following art and activations in downtown.
Paseo de Arte en el centro de Rochester
Experimente el arte de diversas maneras en el centro de Rochester. Únase a un recorrido guiado por un artista todos los domingos, del 11 de septiembre al 16 de octubre, o realice un recorrido auto guiado para ver los nuevos murales y obras de arte del centro en las puertas exteriores de empresas.

Art Outdoors
Coming soon to an alley door near you is the continuation of the program called Art Outdoors. Started in 2019 with two works installed on Cafe Steam's back doors in The Cove, this initiative showcases local artists' works from a variety of mediums into a striking vinyl overlay of an alley door throughout downtown. The hope is you will see them popping up in the coming couple months. (Have no fear: we will add them to our Art Walk murals page and make a big deal about their arrival!)
Art Walk Guided Tours
A host with some of the most arts knowledge will lead you on a free tour of some of downtown Rochester’s most known works and hidden gems of art. The Art Walk Guided Tours every Sunday from September 11 through October 16 will highlight different mediums like murals, free-standing sculptures, or architecture. Mural Grant
A call has been issued for downtown businesses or properties interested in having a new mural installed. Now we wait to see what creativity comes from the collaboration between the artists and businesses for the new Mural Grant. The anticipation of at least five new murals within the 44-block district of downtown over the next couple months is exciting!
