Sharing the Best-Kept Secrets…To Weekend Brunch & Bevies

Rise and shine, weekenders! Everyone needs a good start to the day, and it all begins with a good breakfast! Below are some of the best places for brunch and bevies you’ll find in downtown Rochester on a Saturday, Sunday or both days!

Benedict's
A new player on the brunch scene is Benedict's, but they are doing breakfast right! From the standard eggs and bacon to the unique tot hashes, Benedict's pairs their mouth-watering menu with delicious drinks like any of their distinctive bloody mary's.

Bleu Duck Kitchen
Start your morning off with “a sweet, a savory, or some other stuff,” as found at Bleu Duck Kitchen! From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, you could try one of each! How often is it do you get fresh doughnuts? These take it one step further in including caramel and bacon! While a frittata is a typical breakfast food, Bleu Duck’s is unique in that it incorporates crab, French onions, gruyere cheese and greens. For an unconventional option, the breakfast ramen, complete with bacon jam and soft-boiled egg, might be just for you. Compliment your breakfast with bottomless mimosas for $15.

Cameo at the Castle
More than bacon and eggs, Cameo at the Castle’s brunch includes a variety of breakfast classics starting at 10 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The spicy cinnamon swirl French toast sounds fantastic: sweet whipped cream, fresh berries, decadent maple syrup and powdered sugar. With a twist on the typical, the short rib hash combines Yukon potato, mushroom, and a sunny-side-up egg.

Chesters Kitchen & Bar
Weekends are for indulging. And that’s exactly what you can expect from a brunch at Chesters Kitchen & Bar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays! Guests rave about the eggs Benedict, a delicious pairing of real Canadian bacon, hand-whipped hollandaise, and herbed hash browns. The banana cream pie waffle—a crispy waffle topped with creamy banana custard, whipped cream and homemade caramel—is another breakfast favorite at Chesters!

The Loop
Fuel up with a brunch starting at 10 a.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. Sundays at The Loop! Go south of the border for breakfast with the Southwest Breakfast Pizza, loaded with scrambled eggs, bacon, chorizo, cheese, jalapeño, green onion and chipotle ranch. To satisfy your sweet tooth, try the Nutella cakes, which are fluffy buttermilk pancakes, creamy Nutella, luscious bananas, with your choice of meat on the side! Wash it down with brunch drink specials, which include $4 bloody mary's and screwdrivers, $6 mimosas (or a $15 mimosa pitcher), and $6 specialty bloody mary's.

Pescara
Build the breakfast you desire at Pescara! The Weekend Breakfast Buffet (from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturdays and 7 to 10 a.m. Sundays) and the Sunday Brunch Buffet (from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays) offers a variety of breakfast dishes to make your morning! On the menu is the chef’s specialty eggs du jour, biscuits and gravy, gouda hash browns, and Pescara's lobster bisque, just to name a few! With the Sunday brunch buffet, each guest receives one complimentary mimosa with the meal!

Porch
Breakfast and lunch go hand in hand, just like Porch! For its Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a couple note-worthy mentions include the avocado toast (need we say more?), shrimp and polenta (a unique combination of succulent shrimp, red-eye gravy, bacon, mushrooms, and peppers atop creamy cheddar polenta), and the meatloaf sandwich (special sauce brightens up this typical fare). Get the best of both breakfast and lunch worlds with the chicken and waffle special!
