Movies in the Park June Preview: Harry Potter

Be spellbound by Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone as the first film of the 2019 Movies in the Park season! Muggles and wizards alike are welcome to this free, family-friendly movie June 15 at Castle Community (note relocation because of rain June 15) in downtown Rochester. Let's dive into the magical Harry Potter-inspired night!

Swish and FLICK!

The high-action introductory film in one of the most popular movie series, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone, is based on J.K. Rowling's best-selling book about an orphan who learns he has magical abilities when he is 11 years old. Journey with Harry Potter as he navigates this new world at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! This film is rated PG-13.

The Elixir of Life (Food & Drink)

Cameo at the Castle Restaurant will provide food & beverage for a galleon (i.e. for purchase)! Look forward to chicken wings with Harry Potter-themed dipping sauces like Butterbeer, Gryffindor, Slytherin, and Quidditch. Also available will be Polyjuice Potion (for adult wizards only), Lift Bridge root beer, water, and lemonade.

Alohamora to Activities

Take part in Hogwarts class-inspired activities like tarot card reading from Owl in the Oak Tree ($20 for a 15 minute reading). Professor Sprout would be proud of your make-and-take planters by Canvas & Chardonnay. The first 50 people will have the cost covered; after that, planters will be $6 per person. While not exactly Quidditch, lawn games will grace the grounds for your entertainment!

Expecto Popcorn

Now that you’re ready for a magical night, Carroll’s Corn will be selling popcorn before the movie begins at 9 p.m. Grab yourself some of this buttery snack and settle in!
