Get to Know an Ambassador: Tim Woodward

If you’ve noticed people in bright orange shirts sanitizing, picking up trash, and assisting with directions since July, you’ve seen our Clean and Safe Ambassadors in action. Tim Woodward may have been one of them who started daily cleaning and hospitality services in our downtown in July. Because he's now likely a familiar face, let’s get to know more about him.

Tell us about yourself or how your background compliments your role in the Clean and Safe Ambassador Program.

I have previous work experience working with Savers. I really enjoy working with people. And when this job came up, it gave me the opportunity to do what I really enjoy.

I’ve basically moved around a lot, planted myself here in Rochester, and have really enjoy it. I’ve been in Rochester off and on for about five years.

What type of positive impact do you feel the Clean and Safe Ambassador program will have on our downtown?

It’s going to bring a sense of security to people coming downtown. I believe downtown is a popular area and when they see people down here—cleaning, taking care of things, and greeting them positively—we’re creating a home-like atmosphere for them.

What are you most looking forward to about working in downtown Rochester?

It’s definitely giving that positive vibe to people. And they will then want to spend more time downtown.

What is your favorite public space in downtown Rochester or outside of downtown?

That’s a hard question; there are a lot! I’d say I’m going to go with Peace Plaza. The vibe I get down there, it’s really relaxing. Everyone is friendly.

Look for the Clean Team Ambassadors providing daily, essential cleaning services in their bright orange shirts and ask them for assistance. And stay tuned here for more information about this growing program.
