FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Vendor applications open for 2021 in-person Thursdays Downtown

ROCHESTER, Minn.—After going virtual in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, an in-person Thursdays Downtown is being planned this year with vendor applications now open.

As in years past, Thursdays Downtown will feature artisan and food exhibitors and live entertainment on two stages starting July 8 and running through September 9, 2021.

“We know there is great desire to gather together again with our community at this annual event following this challenging year,” said Holly Masek, executive director of the Rochester Downtown Alliance. “And in light of the governor’s goal of lifting restrictions by July, we’re anticipating a great turnout of both vendors and attendees.”

An application link and more details about Thursdays Downtown can be found at DowntownRochesterMN.com/ThursdaysDowntown. Applications will remain open until May 28, 2021.

Thursdays Downtown will occur in its previous event layout—1st Avenue Southwest and Northwest, 3rd Street Southwest, and Peace Plaza. Should construction impact the layout in any way, the RDA will adjust and communicate accordingly. Therefore, vendors will be asked to select desired areas of the event layout, rather than specific tent locations, to allow additional planning flexibility.

While the goal is for a “normal” event, RDA will continue to provide safety precautions such as hand sanitizing stations, and will follow all county, state, and federal guidelines in event execution.

“Our goal is for all event vendors and attendees to feel safe at Thursdays Downtown,” said Masek. “For many, Thursdays Downtown may be their first time in a large crowd in more than a year. We will strive to make the experience as stress-free as possible and will take extra precautions as needed.”
