Thursdays Downtown 2022 dates update and application opening
ROCHESTER, Minn.—New dates for the 2022 season of Thursdays Downtown and the vendor application process are being announced.
“After discussions with stakeholders, our board of directors, and past Thursdays Downtown vendors, it became clear our community desires more events this summer to bring us together after a long winter,” said Kanika Couchene, RDA director of events & strategic partnerships. “That is why we are excited to announce the addition of two Thursdays Downtown dates.”
The Rochester Downtown Alliance staff is adding two dates and shifting the event series earlier in the summer, which will now start June 16 and end August 18.
“In Minnesota, we don’t have a lot of time to congregate outdoors, and nothing kicks off summer better than events,” said Seamus Kolb of Carroll’s Corn and a past Thursdays Downtown vendor. “Most of my customers are patients and plan their travel around Thursdays Downtown and really look forward to it. Downtown is like a welcome mat to our visitors. It’s great to have an event like Thursdays Downtown to introduce them to the community.”
Vendors and businesses interested in being involved in Thursdays Downtown may apply now. Categories include food, beverage, and artisan. Eighty percent of a vendor’s products must be handmade. Vendors will be evaluated on their application by a jury to be accepted into the Thursdays Downtown food and artisan market.
