August 29 is the Last Chance to Attend Thursdays Downtown

ROCHESTER, Minn.—Thursdays Downtown is closing in on its final date—August 29—of the 2019 season.

As one of downtown Rochester’s staple events, Thursdays Downtown features 115 artisan and food vendors, six live music acts on two stages, and more activities between 11 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on 1st Avenue Southwest, Historic 3rd Street, and in Peace Plaza.

Thursdays Downtown is ushering the end of the market season with big-name and local entertainment. Here are the bands to see at Thursdays Downtown:

  • 1st Avenue Stage presented by Bremer Bank
    • 11:30 a.m. A Little Too Short to be Stormtroopers
    • 5 p.m. Mark Stary Duo
    • 7 p.m. Chris Kroeze
  • Peace Plaza Stage presented by Rochester International Airport
    • 11:30 a.m. My Grandma’s Cardigan
    • 5 p.m. Venture Highway
    • 7 p.m. The Chubs

Also, at the final Thursdays Downtown 2019 market date are farmers market goods from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at People’s Food Co-op’s 3rd Street Mini Market.

In the 82-plus days since the first Thursdays Downtown date of the season, arts, crafts, food, drink, and music have been packed into every Thursdays. Here’s a 2019 By The Numbers as of August 23:

  • 207, 303 estimated attendance
  • 54 live music performances
  • 188 unique vendors throughout the season
  • 76,000 estimated cups sold (Thursdays Downtown-branded cups for alcohol)
  • 998 estimated market bags distributed throughout the season
  • 98 total hours of Thursday Downtown fun
