From the notable sunburst marquee to the unique castle-like décor, the Chateau Theatre is one of the most significant historic buildings in Rochester. Located in the heart of downtown, Chateau opened in 1927 as a Vaudeville house and over the last 90 years has played a vital role in the community as a movie theater and later bookstore and coffee shop.
In 2019, the City of Rochester renovated the building and selected Exhibits Development Group to lead the next chapter. The new Chateau will bring a destination where creativity, inclusivity, and culture intersect featuring world-class traveling exhibitions, a delightful café and wine bar, a curated retail experience, nightly programming, and live music.
