Come share your thoughts and ideas about how to leverage downtown’s unique assets to enhance overall connectivity and forge a stronger relationship with the Zumbro River.

The next Riverfront Talk session topic is titled HISTORIC PRESERVATION + REDEVELOPMENT and will take place virtually Thursday, March 10, 2022- 6:00-7:30 PM. You can register to attend here. The five-part series will build on prior conversations about enhancing downtown Rochester’s public realm and focus in the area between Broadway and 2nd and 3rd streets.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION + REDEVELOPMENT

The Study Area resides at the city’s origin point, and it is defined by historic structures that trace the evolution of downtown Rochester. Over time, building uses change but their form can endure. This session looks at the historical evolution of the site and how it has been transformed over generations.

  • In what ways can new development and historic preservation harmoniously co-exist?
  • What opportunities are there to excavate the land and uncover layers of the city’s past?

Upcoming Riverfront Talks:
Thursday, March 24, 2022-6:00-7:30 PM - URBAN DESIGN + PROGRAMMING

The Riverfront Small Area Plan is a community-driven process to develop a market-supported vision for a central waterfront property.
