Ages 18+
Whether you are brand new to figure drawing or returning to it with experience, this workshop offers a fun and supportive introduction to drawing the human form through shape and gesture. Participants will explore movement, observation, and expressive mark-making in an encouraging environment designed for all skill levels.
Led by artist and educator Megan Vossler, this workshop invites participants to engage with figure drawing through approachable exercises that emphasize observation, movement, and creativity.
Supplies, including paper, markers, charcoal, and other drawing materials, will be provided.
Doors open at 9:45 AM, and the workshop will begin promptly at 10:00 AM.
Instructor
Megan Vossler is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Art and Art History at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she teaches drawing-based practices. She received her BA from Brown University and her MFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her artwork has been exhibited nationwide, including at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the de Young Museum in San Francisco, and the Wooster Art Museum in Ohio.
Accessibility Notes
This workshop will include standing, sitting, light walking, and drawing with the whole body. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement and may get a little messy.
Additional Information
This program takes place in the gallery. Food and drink are not permitted in the gallery, though water bottles may be kept outside the gallery.
Free parking is available in the Civic Center Ramp.
