Downtown Event Organizers Need Public Support at Pitch Competition January 14
ROCHESTER, Minn.—Nine event organizers will be pitching their ideas for a downtown event at the Rochester Downtown Alliance’s Start-Up Event Grant Pitch Night January 14.
Applicants to the Start-Up Event Grant and who will be pitching their ideas are:
- Agency Swell
- Ben Gateno
- Downtown Neighborhood Association
- Friends of the Farmers’ Market
- Greater Rochester Arts and Cultural Trust
- Med City Arts Festival
- Rochester THAW
- The Rotary Club of Rochester
The public is invited to attend and to vote for their favorite pitch, which will receive an additional $500 grant. A limited number of free Pitch Night tickets are available here.
A panel of judges consisting of Naura Anderson of Threshold Arts/Castle Community, Chris Fierst of Bar Buffalo/The Half Barrel, William Forsman of Café Steam, and guest judge John Sievers, local trombonist and previous Start-Up Grant recipient for Jazz Fest, will determine which pitches receive funding through the Start-Up Event Grant.
