Social-ICE and FAM JAM filled with winter fun February 24-25
ROCHESTER, Minn.—For the first time since 2020, Social-ICE and its family-friendly day, FAM JAM, presented by the Rochester Downtown Alliance returns to turn downtown Rochester into an icy oasis Friday and Saturday.
Despite the winter weather predicted for Rochester in the days leading up to Social-ICE, RDA staff is not anticipating any impact to the event itself. Staff will continue to monitor weather conditions for Social-ICE set-up and, with the requirements by its contractors in mind, will adjust as needed.
Social-ICE attendees can look forward to the following planned activities February 24-25:
- Six themed bars and specialty cocktails
- Non-alcoholic beverages and food by Café Steam, Corona’s Tacos, and B-Lo Zero Sno Cones and Minnie Donuts
- Live nightly DJs
- Igloo warming house by Majestic Events
- Sauna warming house by Sauna Life
- Curling by ISG
- Photo booth by Altra Federal Credit Union
- Fire pits by Kraus-Anderson
- Live KTTC broadcast from its ice desk (Friday only)
- Games like giant Jenga and a giant interactive Lite Brite™
- Mini golf by Jolly Jumpz
- Photo opportunities like a retro ski lift photo booth experience by Altra Federal Credit Union, giant Social-ICE letters, the Wall of ICE, and more than 15 unique ice sculptures
Hours for Social-ICE are 4 to 10 p.m. February 24-25.
The free family-friendly day of Social-ICE, FAM JAM, presented by Mayo Clinic from 1 to 4 p.m. February 25 will include the additional activities:
- Themed decade ice sculptures
- DJ dance party from 2 to 3 p.m. hosted by Olmsted Medical Center
- Neon Green Studio art activity for the first 300 kids
- Meet sled dogs by Winona State University, Rochester
- Games including Plinko by TEXTEIJL
- Build a s’mores station and fire pits by Kraus-Anderson
- Appearances by local mascots including University of Minnesota Rochester’s Rockie the Raptor
