RedBall Project Locations Revealed

ROCHESTER, Minn. --- May 11, 2015---- After much anticipation, the Rochester Downtown Alliance’s Downtown Cultural Initiatives Committee has confirmed the seven locations of New York artist Kurt Perschke’s RedBall Project that will appear during the week long outdoor public art exhibit in June.

The locations are:

Saturday, June 6: The Rochester Art Center

Sunday, June 7: The Pedestrian Bridge to Government Center

Monday, June 8: Mayo Clinic, Plummer Building, Plummer Doors

Tuesday, June 9: Peace Plaza, Kahler Grand Awning, near pedestrian crossing

Wednesday, June 10: 600 Block of 6th Avenue NW

Thursday, June 11: Thursdays on First & 3rd, Historic 3rd Street

Friday, June 12: Mayo Building, Annenburg Plaza

Each location was hand selected by Perschke during his visit to Rochester in November of 2014.

Appearing in cities like St. Louis, Portland, Paris and Grand Rapids, the RedBall weighs in at 250lbs (with or without the air) and is approximately 15 feet tall. Why red? Red invites a sense of play making it both visually engaging and interactive.

In addition to the seven sites, the Rochester Art Center will exhibit a collection of Perschke’s drawings and collage June 6 through August 15, 2015.
