Movies in the Park is back on the big screen in 2021

ROCHESTER, Minn.—Movies in the Park presented by the Rochester Downtown Alliance and Altra Federal Credit Union will screen new and classic favorite films every other Saturday this summer in Central Park.

“Outdoor and drive-in movies made an inspiring comeback last year and are safe and easy to implement in 2021 while still in a pandemic,” said Kanika Couchene, RDA director of events & strategic partnerships. “What makes this movie experience different are the movie-themed activities for a full immersive experience. People can expect a fun, refreshed event with a few tweaks for safety.”

The 2021 Movies in the Park film lineup includes:

  • June 12: “Black Panther”
  • June 26: “Casablanca”
  • July 10: “Dirty Dancing” (People’s Choice vote in public poll)
  • July 24: “Zootopia”
  • August 14: “The Wizard of Oz”
  • August 28: “Shrek” (Kids’ Choice vote in public poll)

Prior to the movie, people can enjoy themed activities and movie-inspired food starting at 7:30 p.m. with the film to follow at dusk.
