FIFA World Cup™ Viewing Party being planned in downtown Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn.—Area soccer fans or those looking for sporting entertainment are welcome to attend the free showing of select FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ games December 9-18 in downtown Rochester.

The Rochester Downtown Alliance, in collaboration with Destination Medical Center and Mayo Clinic, will broadcast select FIFA World Cup™ games on a 19-foot LED screen in Peace Plaza.

“We are very excited to bring this celebratory, global event to downtown Rochester,” said Holly Masek, RDA executive director. “We hope to see members of our community and visitors come together to cheer their teams to the finals.”

The FIFA World Cup™ Viewing Party is free and open to the public to enjoy. Because of the time difference between Qatar and the United States, games will be broadcast at 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and to bring their own chair.
