FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Downtown community members encouraged to apply for RDA board

ROCHESTER, Minn.—Those with a vested interest in downtown—be they downtown business or property owners, organization representative, or downtown residents—are encouraged to apply for a Rochester Downtown Alliance board of directors seat.

The RDA is seeking applications from the downtown Rochester community to fill a minimum of four seats on its board of directors. Applicants should have a direct stake in the 44-block special service district of downtown.

“Serving on the board of the Rochester Downtown Alliance provides a dynamic opportunity for stakeholders to contribute their time, energy, and experience to improving our downtown ecosystem,” said Will Forsman, RDA board of directors development chair. “By providing insight from the various industries they represent, board members shape the direction and objective the Rochester Downtown Alliance takes to provide the greatest benefit possible for our great city. We encourage all those interested to explore the opportunity presented and apply.”

The RDA board of directors application will close September 30, with a nominating committee comprised of five current RDA board members to review and select candidates in October. New board members will complete an orientation session before being seated at the January 2023 board meeting.

Board terms are three years with the ability to serve a total of two terms.

Interested candidates may apply online here.
