Dogs Downtown, downtown’s furriest four-legged event, returns August 7

ROCHESTER, Minn.---July 11, 2016---Join us on the Peace Plaza in downtown Rochester on August 7 from 11 am – 3 pm for the second annual Dogs Downtown, and this time, we’ve got a ninja!

Dogs Downtown, presented by Clements Subaru, is a canine-centric event encouraging dogs and their humans to enjoy a day of fun activities and giveaways in an open and family-friendly environment. Happening this year:

  • FREE doggy sWAG
  • Doggy Pool…make that pools!
  • Dogs Downtown step and repeat photo opportunity
  • Dogs Downtown t-shirts for sale
  • Food and refreshments for humans
  • Over seven different dog-related vendors

Meet K9 Ninja Roo Yori – Rochester's own American Ninja Warrior contestant Roo Yori (The K9 Ninja) will be at Dogs Downtown to take pictures with and advocate for his organization Wallace the Pit Bull Foundation. Attendees will also have the chance to meet Angus, his black lab, who cheered him on during his American Ninja Warrior run in Indianapolis, IN.

Funny Dog Photo Contest – Going on now. Capture a photo of your dog making a funny face, funny pose, or interesting gesture for a chance to win a Dogs Downtown Gift Basket (worth $75!). Contest ends August 6. Enter your photo at

Also, catch a special Dogs Downtown edition of Movies in the Park on Saturday, August 6 with “Beethoven.” Show starts at 9:00 pm (dusk) at Central Park, 225 First Ave NW.

With over 3,300 in attendance last year, we’re expecting a howlin’ good time.
