Lime connects riders to the people and places that matter most, bringing cities together and empowering better urban living.
Rochester City Council voted June 1, 2020 to approve the contract with Lime for the 2020-2021 scooter and e-bike season. Lime will relaunch in Rochester in early June with 200 scooters and 25 e-bikes to help residents get around safely during the on-going pandemic. After the first month, the fleet may grow to grow to a maximum of 300 scooters and 50 e-bikes, depending on usage.
City Teammates worked with Olmsted County Public Health to provide guidance related to sanitizing scooters and educating riders on the ongoing COVID-19 risk. As part of this relaunch, Lime is taking a range of steps to keep our community safe:
Lime has enhanced cleaning methods and increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting scooters. They are cleaning all parts of the scooter that are touched by people and are only using products recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on the Center for Biocide Chemistries list that have been approved by the EPA for use against the coronavirus.
Lime has distributed hand sanitizer, masks, gloves and other personal protective equipment (PPE) in offices and warehouses. All Lime mechanics and operators in the field are required to wear gloves and wash their hands regularly.
