FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Shop Small every Saturday from November 28 to December 19

ROCHESTER, Minn.—Typically a one-day shopping experience, Small Business Saturday will expand to four weekends of holiday magic in downtown Rochester this year.

Starting November 28, the RDA will expand the Small Business Saturday tradition, which typically falls on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, to be a month-long celebration of small businesses.  Small Business Saturdays programs and promotions will be available every Saturday through December 19.

Downtown Rochester is home to more than 120 unique retailers and restaurants, and offers an accessible, walkable, safe main street shopping experience where Rochester residents can celebrate the holiday season while supporting the local economy. Downtown businesses will be offering a variety of ways—in-person and online—to support them on Saturdays (and every day) throughout the month.

In addition to shopping and dining, visitors to downtown will find free, family-friendly and physically distanced programs in Peace Plaza and throughout downtown on Saturdays. Activities will include Winter Sidewalk Session musical performances, fire pits, holiday decorations, and displays of the Hiawatha Homes Festival of Trees.

“We want every resident of Rochester to remember the magic of main street shopping in the holiday season,” said Holly Masek, RDA executive director. “Downtown retailers are excited to connect with local audiences—in-person or online—and are prepared to serve you safely.”
