Rochester Downtown Alliance invites public’s support for downtown pitch competition
ROCHESTER, Minn.—The public is invited to attend the free Start-Up Event Grant Pitch Night January 11 and help determine which grant applicant’s downtown event, activity, or program will be funded.
Start-Up Event Grant applicants will present their ideas for a downtown event, activity, or program in a Shark Tank-style pitch competition to a panel of community judges. Up to $3,000 per applicant and $25,000 total in grant funding is available through the Rochester Downtown Alliance’s Start-Up Event Grant. Thanks to Destination Medical Center, $10,000 of the funding will be awarded to those hosting their submission in Peace Plaza as part of DMC’s Heart of the City activation strategy.
As part of Pitch Night, the public will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite idea to receive an additional $500.
A limited number of free tickets to attend Pitch Night are available for the public to claim here.
The Start-Up Event Grant helps make new events, activities, or programs possible with funding to encourage community engagement throughout downtown.
