Nominations now welcomed for Sandy Keith Downtown Impact Award
ROCHESTER, Minn.—The Rochester Downtown Alliance has opened nominations for the 2022 cycle of the Sandy Keith Downtown Impact Award.
First granted in 2017, the award is a way to recognize those who demonstrate passion for urban growth and community development in downtown Rochester.
“Every year this award process gives us an opportunity to reflect on the many talented, creative individuals who work together to strengthen downtown. It’s always humbling to read about the incredible contributions of nominees,” said Holly Masek, RDA executive director.
The award is named in honor of Sandy Keith, one of the founders of the Rochester Downtown Alliance in the early 2000s and a champion for downtown. Keith was the first recipient of the award.
The most recent Sandy Keith Downtown Impact Award recipients were Terry Spaeth, retired assistant city administrator, and the late Gus Chafoulias, former chairman of Titan Development.
“I had the opportunity to work with Sandy in the early days of the Rochester Downtown Alliance and saw firsthand his impact on the downtown. Sandy set the bar high for advocacy and actions to improve the downtown,” said Terry Spaeth. “For me to be considered and selected for the Sandy Keith Downtown Impact Award was humbling and something I will cherish as I reflect on my career."
Nominations for the 2021 Sandy Keith Downtown Impact Award are open and close at 11:59 p.m. July 22, 2022. An online or downloadable nomination form is available here.
The recipient(s) of the Sandy Keith Downtown Impact Award will be selected by a committee of RDA board members, staff, and stakeholders and based on criteria and completeness of the nomination form.
