The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is an original dance production, based on the book by L. Frank Baum and directed by Katie Cook, featuring 60 local, youth dancers.

Join Dorothy and Toto as a cyclone takes them over the rainbow from their home in Kansas to the land of Oz! They are greeted by the Good Witch, and celebrated by the Munchkins for destroying the Wicked Witch of the East. The Good Witch gives Dorothy the powerful silver shoes as a token of thanks. However, the Wicked Witch of the West arrives, and she will stop at nothing to get those shoes! With protection from the Good Witch, Dorothy is sent down the yellow brick road to the only person who can help her return home to Kansas - the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Along the way, Dorothy and Toto are joined by the Scarecrow, Tin Woodsman and Cowardly Lion, each desiring something only the Wizard can give them. Throughout their journey, they encounter the forces of both Good and Evil, eventually defeating the Wicked Witch, while also discovering that the Wonderful Wizard isn’t exactly who they expected. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a story full of color, imagination, wisdom, heart, courage, and in the end, one that brings us back home.

Running time: 60 minutes (no intermission)
