Santa Claus is Coming to Town
As the days get shorter and the nights get colder, it’s only right that we take time to celebrate all things jolly in Downtown Rochester. Celebrate what makes the winter season so special on November 23 from 4:00PM - 8:00PM at Here Comes Santa Claus. The Rochester Downtown Alliance is proud to partner with multiple organizations to put on the jolliest celebration of the year.
Before Santa’s big rescue, hop on the holiday trolley for an adventure in a winter wonderland. Stops throughout Downtown will have holiday treats, crafts and tunes for everyone to enjoy! The trolleys will run continuously along the route stopping at indicated stops from 4:00PM - 5:45PM.
Warming House at Castle Community
Make your first stop at the Warming House inside Castle Community. Put up your feet, defrost your toes, and stay awhile! Grab a friend and see who can decorate the most festive cookie while sipping on hot cocoa, or bring your little one to story time with Mrs. Claus. Test your creative skills and recreate a holiday craft inspired by a local artist.
Jingle Bells on the Peace Plaza
Before the night melts away, hop back on the trolley and head to the Peace Plaza. Let the holiday tree be your backdrop while you sing along to your favorite holiday tunes. Join us and snap a photo in front of Rochester's largest holiday tree with your friends, family, and snowmen alike.
Santa’s Elves Workshop on Broadway
End your route with a stop at Santa’s Elves Workshop (311 Broadway Avenue S) brought to you by Olmsted Medical Center. Now’s the time to settle in and cozy up-- it’s movie time! Watch a holiday favorite, ELF, on pillows and blankets inside; pajamas allowed. There will be popcorn and plenty of photo opportunities to remember the night forever. Before you cozy up for the movie, color your very own letter to Santa. You can even hand deliver it after his rescue later in the night!
While the trolley rides end at 5:45PM, the merriment doesn’t end there. Stick around for the highlight of the night, Santa’s rescue, alongside the lighting of the holiday tree, and even a meet and greet with the man in red himself inside Shops at University Square. Don't forget to grab a complimentary treat provided by Caribou Coffee on your way in. 'Tis the season!
