Movies in the Park September Preview: The Birds

An ebony night descends on the autumn horizon. The faint flapping of wings can be heard, only to grow louder and louder, closer and closer. Fear not, though: these sounds will be contained to the screen during Movies in the Park presented by Premier Banks September 21. The last feature film of the season is the classic drama, The Birds. Here's a preview guide of what will keep you on the edge of your seat and what will get you of out of your seat!

Circle Around this Movie

It all starts in a San Francisco pet store. Socialite Melanie Daniels is purposefully mistaken for a store assistant by Mitch Brenner, who is looking to buy love birds for his sister’s birthday. Charmed and annoyed, Melanie decides to purchase the birds and to drive them to Mitch’s home in Bodega Bay. What transpires next is something no one in this quaint coastal town can fathom: an increasing number of attacking birds. This film is rated PG-13; parental discretion is advised.

A Multitude of Food and Drink

Infuzn knows how to feed the hungry horde! Try a variety of scrumptious eats like the potato masala wrap, paneer in pineapple sauce wrap, pulled pork nachos made with Jackfruit, and a mango smoothie. As a final treat to the Movies in the Park season, Coldstone Creamery is dishing up its famous silky-smooth ice cream onsite.

Swarm the Activities

Let your imagination run wild (and not because of the birds)! Hand-paint a ceramic bowl to be featured as a memento for Channel One's Empty Bowls event October 10. The cost is $10; supplies are included and quantities are limited to the first 100 participants. With a variety of lawn games in Central Park, there will be no need to fend off the birds: just your friendly human competition!

Crowd around the Popcorn

Before you settle in to your seat, grab a snack of Carroll’s Corn popcorn (while supplies last) before the movie begins at 9 p.m.

A Flock of Partners

The Rochester Downtown Alliance is thankful for Premier Banks, Charter House, Coldstone Creamery, and Home Advisor for flocking to support Movies in the Park! Their continued partnerships make this event fun and possible for all!
