A Q&A with Georgia Hurley of Baby, Baby
6/15/2007Q: What would encourage someone to shop at Baby Baby?
A: Our clothing is classic, timeless and traditional. We have major brand names that have served children well over the years. These are family clothes that make for picture-perfect outfits.
Q: Anything special you’d like a shopper to know?
A: Our customer service is top notch. We will make timely special orders. Even if you don’t see what you want, or if you’re looking for something unique and special, we can get it for you.
Q: What’s the best way to get to Baby Baby on foot from downtown?
A: We are in the subway level right next to the Associated Bank.
Q: Where should a person park?
A: Park in the Center Street ramp and go through the Wells Fargo building. Take the elevator down to the subway and keep walking, we’re just past the Associated Bank; directly below the Marriott Hotel.
Q: What are some particular things you want people to know about Baby Baby?
A: We are locally-owned. It’s our only store. We’re the original. My three children all wore these same clothes growing up, so we know our product intimately.
Q: Do you have special events?
A: We celebrate Baby Baby’s birthday every year with a sale in the first week of October. It’s a ‘birthday’ not an ‘anniversary’ because children celebrate birthdays not anniversaries.
Our annual Easter Egg Sale is always two weeks before Easter.
Q: What are some things Baby Baby has that can’t be found everywhere?
A: We have personalized lullabies from two sisters in Red Wing. Your child’s name is written into popular lullabies and put to music and delivered to you on a CD. We also have the popular RobeezTM shoes in all sizes.
Q: What do you provide to the community of Rochester?
A: Children are part of the family and families are a part of the Rochester community. We provide for the children of the area and for visitors. We love for customers to relate their stories.
Q: What is one interesting fact about Baby Baby that more people should know?
A: Business is great and we’re now three times the size we were when we first opened.
Q: How long has Baby Baby been in Rochester?
A: We opened in October 1999.
