The “Butt Kickers!” of John Adams picked up 26,528 cigarette butts in Downtown Rochester on 5/15/2015
Do some areas of Downtown Rochester look a little bit cleaner this morning? The “Butt Kickers” of John Adams Middle School were out picking up cigarette butts on Friday and they have quite the bounty to show for their efforts.
The “Butt Kickers” were in action for 6 hours and picked up 26,528 butts from their approximately 1.5 mile route. The combined efforts of the four “Butt Kicking” events have resulted in a total of 94,304 cigarette butts being removed from the environment.

The Rochester Downtown Alliance, Mayor Ardell Brede, Rochester Park and Recreation offered a bounty on cigarette butts picked-up. Friday’s efforts by the earned $1500 that will go to the John Adam’s Science Alive Lab!
