Arts & Cultural Event Grant – Rochester Downtown Alliance offers
Assistance for new events to thrive in the Downtown community.
ROCHESTER, Minn. --- February 12, 2015


The Rochester Downtown Alliance’s (RDA) Downtown Cultural Initiative (DCI) Committee is pleased to
announce the continuation of the Arts & Cultural Event Grant Program, which provides applicants with up
to $3000 in grant assistance towards hosting events within Downtown Rochester.


The Arts & Cultural Event Grant is available to first-time events taking place within the designated 44-
block Special Service District in Downtown Rochester – with a particular interest to activate under-utilized
spaces in the Downtown district (i.e. the river walk, Central Park, and empty parking lots).


Grants are available in both small and large scale amounts. Events considered small scale can be funded
for up to $1,000 (request forms must be submitted at least 45 days prior to the event to be considered).
Events considered large scale can be funded for up to $3,000 (request forms must be submitted at least 90
days prior to the program to be considered). Each submitted request will be considered by the RDA DCI
Committee and juried based on mission alignment with the program, location, type of event, community
engagement, focus, and marketing appeal.


The Arts & Cultural Event Grant is designed to help first –time events come to fruition, while additionally
creating unique, vibrant, and urban experiences Downtown that enrich the community of Rochester and
its residents.
