December 7, 2013
ROCHESTER, Minn.---November 7, 2013---Come downtown on Saturday, December 7, 2013 and help us welcome Santa Claus to downtown Rochester. This fun filled event will start at 1:00pm with Santa arriving on top of Old City Hall (224 1st Ave SW, Rochester, MN 55902) and run until 5:00pm. Event attendees will have the option to enjoy several FREE activities during the day.
Leave your cameras at home! Southern Touch Photography will be in Barnes & Noble during the afternoon hours taking FREE pictures with Santa Claus (pictures available for purchase). Make your way to the top of the escalator under the archway and get your picture taken with Santa, and don’t forget to head over to the children’s area and listen to stories read by Mrs. Claus.
No need to haul that stroller throughout the day. Take advantage of our new stroller valet service. Leave your stroller with us and pick it up at the end of the night. Your stroller will be monitored and safe under tents on the Peace Plaza.
Climb aboard the Rochester Trolley, loading outside the Marriott hotel, and receive a free 15 minute ride around downtown, compliments of the Rochester Trolley & Tour Company. Complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will also be served from the Information Kiosk located on the Peace Plaza.
New to the event this year, event attendees can enjoy free entertainment on the Peace Plaza stage from 1:30 - 5:00pm. Entertainment ranges from dance performances, Christmas caroling, youth singers, and theatre acts. View the full entertainment schedule at www.downtownrochestermn.com/events/here-comes-santa-claus.
The city tree lighting ceremony on the east side of the Peace Plaza will start at 4:55pm with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the Mayor lighting the City Tree.
