2016 SocialICE – Rochester Minnesota’s Ice Bar
Experience Downtown Rochester’s 8th Annual Ice Bar Event Feb. 18, 19, and 20
ROCHESTER, Minn.---January 18, 2016---The Rochester Downtown Alliance (RDA) is pleased to announce the return of SocialICE – Rochester Minnesota’s Ice Bar. A Rochester winter tradition, SocialICE will be February 18 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm and February 19 and 20 from 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm. The event will be held on the Peace Plaza in downtown Rochester.
Have you ever wanted to sit on an ice throne? What about seeing a life-size ice sculpture of the Hulk or Willy Wonka? You can at SocialICE. SocialICE brings thousands to downtown Rochester to enjoy seven 12-foot uniquely designed and themed ice bars -- each with hand-crafted signature drinks, special-effects lighting, and life-size ice sculptures.

SocialICE caters to a wide variety of musical tastes with live DJs each night. Our DJs will energize the crowd with a mix of hits and classics spun with talent and skill that only a live DJ can. If that wasn’t enough, their visually-stunning DJ booth is fully iced-out (literally) and dressed in special-effects lighting and pixel-mapped LED screens.
SocialICE also features The Walk of ICE ice sculpture garden sponsored by various businesses and organizations. Check out the large interactive ice sculptures by TEDx, University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR), The Post-Bulletin, and more.

In 2009, approximately 200 attendees participated in the first ever SocialICE, which at the time, featured only one ice bar. In 2015, the number of attendees reached over 46,000. SocialICE is the “hottest” cold event in Rochester Minnesota.
