Welcome to the NORTH Country.

Over 40 years ago we opened a small Scandinavian Shop in downtown Rochester at the Kahler Hotel. Customers from Europe, South America, New York and even Hollywood soon came to our shop and found authentic Scandinavian, porcelain, crystal, jewelry and of course Norwegian sweaters. Coupled with our Scandinavian roots and genuine “Minnesota Nice” atmosphere those customers came back each time they were in Rochester. Now we are welcoming the 4th generation into the store with that same NORTH Country hospitality.

Today The Nordic Shop can be found on the pedestrian skyway level of the Galleria at University Square located on the Peace Plaza across from the Mayo Clinic. Our shop continues to delight and charm customers from near and far. As the oldest and largest Premier Dealer of Dale of Norway Sweaters we have hundreds of sweaters in stock. Our accomplished staff loves to tell the story of these sweaters which have been made at Dale in Norway since 1879. The patterns are all inspired by nature and history. This is the place to find the perfect fit, color and style to become your favorite.

Other brands we carry in the shop include Oleana, Danish Silversmiths, Helly Hansen, Fjellraven, Royal Copenhagen, Orrefors and many other iconic Scandinavian designers. Our Christmas display in the fall and winter is not to be missed. Charming Scandinavian nisse, authentic nutcrackers and pyramids and more create a magical Christmas wonderland for shoppers of all ages.
