Development in Downtown Rochester, MN
Four major projects currently underway
Peace Plaza Expansion

A yearlong project is now underway to enlarge and renovate this hub of downtown activity. The completed project will result in a beautiful two-block pedestrian space that will serve as a focal point for downtown festivals and events.
University of Minnesota Rochester

University of Minnesota Rochester will be occupying the third and fourth floors of University Square, formerly known as Centerplace Galleria. The student lounge will be the focal point as you enter the space from the escalators at the north (view as shown) and from the stairs at the south. Large scale graphics highlighting university life are along the student corridor on third floor and at the fourth floor lounge. Multiple classrooms and lab spaces are on each level with the Student Services and Bookstore to be located on the first floor.
Mixed-Use Development for Retail Business and Student Housing

This development promotes the "urban village" concept with a mixed-use plan including retail, office and housing spaces. The project accommodates the growing need for student housing with the new UMR Galleria campus and provides opportunity for new business. The urban village contributes to the economic vitality and vibrancy of the downtown district by allowing consumers to eat, shop and do business where they live.
Minnesota BioBusiness Center

This facility will be located downtown in close proximity to Mayo Clinic and the Minnesota Partnership for Biotechnology and Medical Genomics. The facility is being designed to provide more than 150,000 square feet of office/lab space for companies who could benefit by being near Rochester’s bioscience assets.
